EVENTS IN THE PICTURESQUE VILLAGE OF POLRUAN RUN THROUGHOUT AUGUST, LEADING TO POLRUAN'S OWN REGATTA WEEKEND, NEXT ON AUGUST 25TH - 27TH 2018.
Set within an historic shipbuilding village that dates back to the fourteenth century, the 2017 Polruan Regatta took place a week after the end of the Fowey Royal Regatta, in glorious sunshine. We particularly enjoy welcoming and including visiting children and their families in our fabulous three-day celebration.
Not to be confused with its across-the-river counterpart and steeped with over one hundred years of Cornish tradition, all of the events during the Polruan Regatta are organised, marshalled and funded by the Polruan Regatta & Children's Sports Organisation. This is a voluntary organisation whose members give freely of their time and effort, with one singular charitable goal: to raise funds to benefit the interests of the children of the Parish of Lanteglos-by-Fowey.
The funds raised from this glorious affair enable the organisation to enhance the lives of children in the community with day trips, sporting events and even a visit from Father Christmas himself, amongst many other wonderful things.
